Since the computer screen from which the footage is being captured is, of course, non-interlaced (as all computer monitors are), I'm guessing it starts flickering once it's outputted to an NTSC monitor, which is interlaced. Camtasia by Techsmith is a simple, all-in-one video editing and screen recording software program. (I've already tried color correction to bring down the white level, but this does nothing to cure the flicker, it just washes out the image.)Įvidently it has something to do with interlacing.
But when I look at it in a client monitor, I see quite a bit of flickering, especially in areas that are especially bright. When I do a screen capture with Camtasia, recording movements across the screen (for a software tutorial), the resulting video looks fine on my computer monitor. They said there are no adjustments in their software that will correct my problem. I've already pursued this question with the folks at Tech-Smith, makers of Camtasia Studio, and they were unable to assist me.
